Living “correctly”

This topic receives significant opposition in the modern world. Is there a single cultural or religious group that has everything figured out? In the social media groups I engage with, there are frequent disagreements about how Christians are perceived to consistently judge or condemn non-believers. Sadly, this perception is not entirely unfounded. I once lived across from a Planned Parenthood clinic and witnessed many individuals holding signs that were judgmental towards those visiting the center. However, as a Christian, instead of condemning non-believers or individuals living in a manner deemed “incorrect,” we are called to pray for others to receive God (John 17:20-26) and to do good while proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ (Galatians 6:10).

Other religions also have their own set of principles and commandments. However, in Western civilization, there is often a predominant focus on criticism directed towards Christians in relation to biblical principles, as evidenced by incidents such as the recent Joe Budden controversy. This raises the question of why there is a disproportionate level of scrutiny and criticism directed at Christians in comparison to followers of other religions, despite the presence of rules and principles in other religious traditions. While I do not possess a definitive answer to this inquiry, it is a topic that weighs on my mind as I continue to deepen my connection with Christ.

My take (for now 😊): most people struggle with taking responsibility. Expressing opinions needs to be done thoughtfully and at the right moment for the message to be heard and not disregarded. And let’s face it, religion is a touchy subject. Call to action: Let’s all strive to move forward with love…2024 and beyond.

I love you.
